All about Addie
Happy 4th Birthday - We had a small party for Addie with just immediate family. She is really into princesses right now and LOVES the movie Brave. So one of her favorite characters is Merida from the movie Brave. For dinner that night, mommy and daddy took her to Chili's where she got to play her favorite computer games on their table-top computer units.
Role play - Addie loves to dress up in just about any character and will proceed to ask us to address her as that character. She will come in the room and wait for us to acknowledge who she is and if we don't say, she will remind us.
Entertaining baby - Addie loves to line up stuffed animals and other toys for Aribelle to watch. She was a bit fussier this month than usual so any time Aribelle cried, Addie would scramble to find entertainment for her.
All about Cooper
"mom" or "dad" - Cooper's newest thing is saying "mom" or "dad" for absolutely no reason at all. Out of nowhere he will just say it. We will answer him but he never replies back with anything. A bit silly and makes us giggle when he does it.
Lining up toys - I think many kids go through a phase where they line up their toys, but I just can't get over it. Cooper still LOVES to line up his toys (typically his toy animals). Sometimes he will just line them up and walk away and other times he will go through pointing at each one saying what they are.
Entertaining baby - Cooper still loves to "boop" Aribelle's nose any chance he gets, but will also bring toys over to her to get her attention. We're starting to watch him a bit closer because I'm not sure he realizes her fragility just yet and can be a bit rough when playing. He definitely loves to get her attention though.
All about Aribelle
Daytime sleep issues - I know sometimes babies get irritable when they go through growth spurts and that might be what we're dealing with lately. Starting around 4/7 we noticed that she wasn't sleeping much during the day and seemed a bit more irritable than usual during the day. By the end of the month, it seemed to taper off and she slept a bit more but still not as much as we were used to.
Self-soothing - Aribelle has been using her thumb and sometimes finding her paci to self soothe. We are finding that we are having to go in to help her less often than usual.
Laughing at mama - While playing on the changing mat, Aribelle was giggling quite a lot at mama. I was making faces and shaking my hair back and fourth which made her continue to giggle. I love seeing this side of her!
Night sleeping - On 5/1 Aribelle slept for 7 hours at night!! We know that it's typical for babies to do it occasionally and then not sleep for days, but it is a nice break when they do it!
Swollen gums - At her doctors appointment her doctor noticed swollen gums. Of course we will be in shock if she gets teeth before she's 1 year since her brother and sister didn't get theirs until they were a year.
Rolling - On 5/12 she rolled from her belly to her back. Mommy didn't get the first time on video but a few times after we were able to get it.
