Weekly Update - Upgraded walking

Weekly Photo -

Milestones - Week of June 25 (59 Weeks)

Pekaboo - We've blogged about playing pekaboo with Addie before but she's started something new.  Before, we would jump around a corner or hide behind a blanket and yell BOO.  Now, Addison will cover her eyes and pull them away quickly and wait for us to say BOO.  She gets such a kick out of it and it never gets old to her!

Walking - It seems like Addie gets around more on her feet than she does crawling nowadays.  As long as there is something to hold on to, she's usually walking.  She used one of her walkers on her own this week too without any help!  If we try to walk WITH her though, she wants nothing to do with it.  The minute we try to pull her away from whatever object she's holding on to, she will immediately sit down.

Weekly Update - More Teeth!!

Weekly Photo

Milestones: Week of June 17 (58 Weeks)

Talking:  Of course 98% of it is just babbling, but Addie is more vocal every day.  A few things that we have noticed though is that she will point at something (now with her finger instead of her whole hand) and say "es-sat" like she's saying "what's that".  We will also ask Addison to point to her ears, eyes, nose, etc. and she will repeat the word "eye".  Her favorite word lately..... "da-da".

More Teeth:  Daddy noticed that Addison has a very small tooth coming through her lower gums in (in the front).  It's such a relief for her to start getting teeth in.  We will finally be able to give her some normal foods!

Eating:  Addison's appetite is ever growing and I'm not sure where she's putting everything!  She now eats at least two baby food jars per meal and then she will have one side (crackers, cereal, fruit, etc).  We are also noticing that Addison is losing interest in eating "her" food and gaining interest in whatever daddy or mommy is eating.  We have to make it a point to feed her before she sees what we are going to eat, otherwise, she won't eat her food!

Standing/Walking:  Our little one is moving around so well now!  She "cruises" around by holding on to things to help her walk.  She hasn't yet tried walking without assistance though.  With her added mobility has brought a new excitement.... getting into everything!!

Weekly Update - Pointing

Weekly Update

We've been winding down from a very busy month!  It's been nice to be back at home and relaxing and watching our baby girl grow!  We didn't get many pictures this week, but I managed to snap a few when we went to Captain Ron's with Uncle Dillon and cousins Blake and Avryl.

Milestones: Week of June 3rd 2011 (56 Weeks)

Eating:  Addison now eats AT LEAST two baby puree' jars of food per meal.  We don't heat anything that we're giving her, to prevent a finicky eater when we're out and don't have access to a microwave.  It's helpful too when we get her up in the morning and she doesn't have patience to wait for something to be heated!

Growing:  Addie doesn't fit in any of her 12 or 18 month pj's!!  We now just put her in sleeveless onesies and shorts or pants.  She seems just as happy crawling around in a diaper, but our hard floors and her soft skin don't seem to agree (she gets red marks on her poor knees).

Waving:  Recently, she has started waving bye differently.  She used to extend her arm out and bat it up and down.  Now, she extends her arm out and opens/closes her hand with her palm in (like saying come here).

"Go Crazy":  She has done this before, but now she does it on command LOL!  She used to shake her head "no" for no reason at all.  Now, when mommy or daddy says "go crazy" she shakes her head and will sometimes make an "aaahhhhaaahhhh" noise with it.  It's super cute!!!

Pointing:  She will point using her whole hand.  At first, daddy and I weren't sure what she was doing because she would look at something and just extend her arm out.  Then we would walk over to what we thought she would be looking at, like a light switch or something, and she would start playing with it.  Now it's pretty obvious because she will point to her milk with her hand or a toy that's out of reach.  Although the pointing is really cute now, we make it a point to repeat whatever she is pointing at before giving it to her.

Weekly Update - TEETH!!!!

Weekly Photo:

We left on Wednesday for Vacation (May 25th).  The start of our vacation was in Arkansas where we pick up Shane's parents and an RV.  After a few stops along the way, we ended up in San Antonio.  It was a really exciting trip!  I have a few pictures (below).

Milestones: Week of May 27th 2011 (56 Weeks)

Crawling Up Stairs- I've put Addie on the stairs before and she will pull herself up one step and then just sit.  This week though, she crawled up the entire flight of stairs from the lower level to the upper level of the house!!  She crawled up pretty quickly too.  When daddy got home from work, we just had to show him.  Sure enough, she crawled up again!

Saying "up"- I think she's been saying this for weeks, but we just haven't seen the connection.  Since she was about 5 or 6 months old, we say "up" before we pick her up.  Now, we are noticing that she says "up" when she wants to be picked up.  She does it most with daddy.  I think she knows he will cave the most :)

Eating- We are still feeding Addie baby puree' since she doesn't have teeth to mash anything up.  Addison is eating at least one full jar per meal now.  Sometimes she will go through around 1/2 of another container.  She's not extremely picky about the baby food either.  We've fed her almost every baby puree there is!  The only thing she isn't to fond of is the "oats" or "yogurt" combinations.  It's awesome to see her eating so well!

Front Upper teeth:  We are starting to see two little white dots on her upper gums! FINALLY....TEETH!  I thought I would be sending our daughter to college with baby food one day.  It's so nice to finally see something coming through.  It's nearly impossible to get a picture of them because of how small they are, but as soon as I can get a better glimpse of them, I will post a pic on here.

Cabbage:  WARNING....NOT FOR THE WEAK TO READ......Mommy is in the process "drying out" since we aren't giving Addison breast milk anymore.  This process is anything but comfortable!  Thursday though, I had a few people tell me to try cabbage in my bra.  Of course I laughed and thought people were crazy but I was at a point where I was ready to try ANYTHING to relieve some of the pain and discomfort.  I was showering with my bra on because I knew that if I took it off, I would proabably collapse and die from the pain! LOL
Day one of cabbage, my chest was at a size DD and felt like someone had put rocks under my skin!!!  The cabbage seemed to cool my skin and help a little bit with pain.  I was wearing the stinky leafy vegetable ALL DAY LONG, switching to new leafs every few hours.
Day two of cabbage, my chest was a little less tender.  I'm starting to smell like stew and extremely embarrassed to go out in public!  I wore cabbage again all day long switching to new leafs every few hours.
Day three of cabbage, I can actually touch the top of my chest without insane amounts of pain!  The only way I can explain what is happening is that it seems like everything is "settling to the bottom" of my boobs.  The bottom of my breasts are still pretty firm, but the top seems to be going back to normal.  I was able to put a normal bra on (size C).  "Wore" cabbage only in the morning and in the evening.
Day four of cabbage, I think I dropped another cup size in one day!!  My C bra is actually loose on me!  My chest feels pretty normal.  Addie of course finds the tender spots when we're rolling around and she kicks or hits me by accident, but overall I'm not in noticeable pain.  I only wore cabbage for two hours today.
Day five.  I didn't wear any cabbage today and I'm starting to smell less like a rotten stew (LOL).  I am feeling so much more....normal!  My shirts are all loose on me and I am in NO pain at all!! PHEW!!!
