Weekly Update - Homeless!!

Addie's Weekly Picture

Expect me to be late on most of our blogs for probably the next month.  :)  Friday the 28th we closed on our "old" house.  We were supposed to close on the new house the following Monday, but the appraisal came out low and the sellers were having trouble agreeing to drop the price.  Since it took the sellers so long, it pushed our closing date to the following Friday (November 4th).  Addie is adjusting well to the new "home", aka our hotel.  We packed a few of her small toys but she seems more interested in her new surroundings for the moment (doors, mirrors, chairs).

Addie's Weekly Milestones Week of October 28, 2011 (77 Weeks):

Counting:  Nana was able to get Addison to try counting while she visited us 1-2-3.  When Nana would get to the number 2, Addison sounded like she was saying TWO!

New Words:  Addie is saying so many words lately.  Of course it's difficult to tell what she's saying all of the time, but if we ask her to repeat something after us, she does really well!  Some of the new words she has tried successfully are: breakfast, please, and Nana.

Clingy:  We've mentioned this a few times and it seems to come and go.  This week though, Addison seems to be the most clingy we've ever seen.  The attachment seems to be mostly with daddy and can be pretty extreme at times.  Any time Addison sees daddy leave the hotel room, she cries!

Still in the "old" house WITH furniture :)

Hanging out with Nana and "talking" with her.

Addie seems to always be content sitting on Nana's lap!! :)

Cute!  Look at Cousin AV!! So funny!!!!

On Thursday, we went back to the old house to clean and finish
up any last minute tasks.  Since we knew it would probably be our
last time to this part of the lake for a while, we made a pit stop to one
of our favorite places... Captain Ron's Bar & Grill!!  Addie loved their
Halloween Decorations!!

At the hotel, scratching daddy's "scruff" on his face.

She played with his face for a good 5 minutes!! ha ha

Addie's hair was getting a bit out of control.
This would be her second hair trim EVER!

She did okay....

As long as the hair dresser didn't talk to her!! Ha

And as long as Nana kept the M&M's coming!

Thank God for Nana's!

She seems pretty content now.

No WalMart trip is complete without a visit to the Arcade!

Weekly Update - Handley Camp-out

Addie's Weekly Photo:

Over the weekend, we went to Uncle Floyd and Aunt Maggie's Farm over in Arkansas for the family's annual camp-out.  We brought along Nana, Uncle Dillon, AV, and Blake.  It was especially nice because we didn't have sleep in our car to avoid the cold this year since Uncle Dillon had his camper.  The weekend was a good time and a nice breath of fresh air from the chaos we've been handling with the home buying/selling process.  I tried to take lots of pictures from the weekend (below).
We close on our house on Friday (the 28th) and there are a million things to still do.  Addison has been a trooper as we pack many of her toys.  She finds boxes to play with or crawls in and out of empty cabinets.  I will do my best to keep up with the blog, but we will need access to internet as we will be staying in a hotel from Wednesday the 26th until the closing on the new house (Tentatively November 4th).  Will do our best!! :)

Milestones Week of October 21st (76 Weeks):

Vocab:  Lexi (Shane's niece) was able to get Addie to say "lu-lu" which is Lexi's nickname.  I think it came out more like "WooWoo", but still cute to hear!  Addie seems to enjoy trying to say just about any word you ask her to.

Diapering:  Addison was going through a phase for a while where she would kick and scream every time we would change her.  Since she needs a new diaper 5-7 times a day, it was getting pretty tiring for all of us!! Lately though, it seems like she avoids the tantrum as long as you sing to her or ask her questions she knows (where's your belly, etc.).

Tantrums:  I know all toddlers go through these but I figured we could document them anyway :) lol  We have a little tantrum baby!!  I thought it was just Addie being clingy, but it's looking more every day like it's just her little way to release some energy.  If Addison has her sights set on walking somewhere or doing something and we pick her up to take her elsewhere, she FREAKS!!

Sleeping:  As we posted before, Addison was having a bit of trouble falling asleep at night.  I chalked it up to her trying to cope with the chaos happening around our house lately.  It seems like she's back to normal now though.  She has been getting up a bit earlier than usual (6:30 instead of 7:00) but she still sleeps until 7 or 8 at times.  Our movers come on Wednesday to load up all of our belongings and take them to the new place and we will be in the hotel for about a week.  Lets see how the sleeping goes then!

Baby #2 Update:
Size:  I'm now between 19 and 20 weeks along and definitely showing!  I am MUCH bigger than I was with Addison.
Sonogram:  We had our 20-week ultrasound on Friday.  Daddy wasn't able to make it to the last appointment so it was exciting for him to see our little Cooper for himself.  Coop was definitely proud to show is daddy that is is in fact a BOY!  ha ha  Doc says everything looks great.  I will get pics of the sonogram on here as soon as I can.
Kicks and flutters:  I am feeling a TON of flutters and kicks lately.  I've been feeling flutters from the inside of my belly, but hadn't really felt anything with my hand on my belly until Friday.  It was really exciting to finally feel him kick my hand :)

Weekly Update - "Yes" and "No"

Weekly Photo:

I'm sure it's not unusual that I'm late with the weekly post....AGAIN!! Ha ha  This week we have been packing, packing PACKING!!!  The inspection for the buyers of our place was Thursday and Addie did really well with all of the new people in her home.  We had the inspector, appraiser, buyers and the buyers agent all at the same time roaming around the house.  With all of the chaos we've had lately, I've been waiting for Addie's moods to change but for the most part, she's keeping a beat.  I'm not sure if she understands what's going on or not.  We were STOKED when Nana came on Wednesday to help out with everything.  I could tell that Addison remembered her because she didn't act shy at all towards her and ran over when Nana got out of the car.

Milestones Week of October 14, 2011 (75 Weeks):

Yes & No:  Nana taught Addie to nod "yes" and "no" this week!  It's soooo cute too because Addison will open and close her mouth when she is nodding "yes" and flip her tongue left to right while she nods "no".  She seems to understand the difference between when to use each one too!

Sleeping Changes:  I'm sure it has something to do with the packing and chaos, but Addison's sleeping habits have changed a bit.  She's still sleeping through the night, but is having a hard time initially going down.  Basically she will just cry or fuss a bit whereas she used to lay right down and go to sleep.  We haven't been giving her the usual "naps" that she's used to because we aren't always home and with people in and out of the house, it's pretty difficult to stick to any sleep schedule.  Hopefully after we settle in to the new place though, Addie will be back on track.

Clingy:  Addison has started to be a bit more clingy to us.  She doesn't do it all of the time and it seems to be more often with daddy.  If daddy picks her up and then puts her down, she will throw a FIT!  If she sees daddy, many times, she will follow him around until he picks her up.  Other times, she will just bury her face in between our legs, begging us to pick her up.  I figured that this behavior wouldn't show until the new baby came, but I'm guessing it has something to do with her hectic surroundings.

Yelling at TV:  Daddy's favorite baseball team (the St. Louis Cardinals) have been trying to make their way to the World Series and we've been watching baseball non-stop while packing!  Addison has begun to get into the games as much as her daddy!  It's so funny because Shane will yell or cheer at the TV and then Addie will yell/cheer.  We were able to get her on video with Shane's phone and we laugh every time we re-watch it!  If the computer ever cooperates, we will get some videos on here for sure!!

Weekly Update - 17 Months

Weekly Photo

WOW What a HUGE week we've had!  On Sunday (October 2nd), we put our house up for sale and by Friday (the 7th) we had an offer!  The catch is, the buyers need us out by the 27th!!!!  Needless to say, mommy has been a bit behind on this week's blog trying to pack and get things in order.
I'm not sure if we had posted anything about looking for a house, but mommy and daddy found a house that is a bit more family friendly than the one we are in now.  We've had our sights set on it for about a month, and finally decided it was time to sell our place so we could snag the other house.  Don't get me wrong, we LOVE our house but with only one bedroom on the main level puts the kids in the walk-out lower level alone.  That might be great when they're  a bit older, but definitely not as babies and toddlers.  We made an offer on the new house on Sunday and they accepted!  The next three weeks are going to be HECTIC to say the least.  I will do my best to get blogs up on here and keep everyone posted.

Milestones Week of October 7, 2011 (74 Weeks)

WALKING, WALKING WALKING:  Addie has gone from walking 40% of the time to around 90% in only a week!! It seems like in a matter of days, Shane and I noticed that she really wasn't crawling much at all.  She definitely seems to prefer walking now.  Just in time for her to help move boxes!! ha ha

Teeth:  I think Addie only has about 3 or 4 more teeth to come in before she's got a full set.  Again, we're not positive how many she has in there, but every now and then we'll catch her yawning or laughing hard and we can see in her mouth.

Doors:  Addison loves the screen doors on the upper deck.  To give her a little bit of extra freedom, I've been letting her go out on the patio since there's no way she can get "out" to the lower level.  It's pretty safe up there.  She will walk a large circle from the inside to the outside going from the master bedroom inside to the dining room screen, then to the master screen back inside and do it all over again.
