Weekly Update - Standing!!

Weekly Photo:

Milestones Week of July 29th (64 Weeks):

Standing:  Addie has obviously been standing for quite some time, but on Wednesday, she stood up without assistance and didn't use anything to hold onto while standing.  It was very exciting because Addison has been walking (cruising) and standing WITH assistance for months and it seemed like this day would never come.  We're thinking walking is just around the corner! :)

Awww, Sweet Baby:  Addison does the cutest thing.  When we say "Awww, sweet baby", she will lay her head down.  She has been doing this for around a month now but it just gets cuter every time!  She will lay her head down on your shoulder, chest, or if she's cruising around the room she will lay it on the edge of the couch or table.  Soooo CUTE!!

Extended Vocabulary:  Addison has added three words to her vocabulary.  "Go", "Duck", and "All Done".  When mommy tells the dogs to go lay down, Addie will repeat "GO" (sounds more like an emphasized letter G).  We bought her a toy duck that lights up and we were calling it Duck Duck.  After we repeated it several times, she said "Duh Duh".  At meal time Addie will raise her arms up to tell us when she is finished eating and we will ask "all done?".  This week, Addison has started repeating "ah duh" with her arms raised.

Riding Forward:  We have a few toy ride-on's around the house that Addison loves to play with.  They don't have pedals, they are the kind that you push off with your feet.  Addie has pushed herself around the house in them but never really gone forward, just backward.  Within the last week, not only is she going forward, but she goes FAST!

Weekly Update - Kisses

Weekly Photo:

We've had a pretty uneventful week.  Over the last month, things have been busy busy so Addie and mommy stayed at home and just hung out and stayed out of the heat.

Milestones Week of July 22nd (63 Weeks):

Kisses:  If we say "give me kisses" to Addie, she will lean forward and let you kiss her forehead or cheek.  It's so cute!

Ball Action:  Addison loves to pass a ball back and forth if you sit with her on the floor.  It's also funny because if we are in the toy room, she will throw balls out of the ball pit and wait for you to put them back in.  If we start putting them back in the pit, she will laugh and keep throwing them out! Ha ha

Separation Anxiety:  I can't say she really has this 100% because she doesn't.  But it was cute earlier in the week when Shane came home from work he had to run back out to the car and Addie flipped out when he left!  Every now and then if we leave a room, she will get upset but it doesn't happen very often.

Playing with phones:  Addison does the funniest thing with daddy's phone.  He puts an app on the screen called "talking Carl".  Addie will hit the home screen (to make the app disappear) and then hand the phone back to Shane so he can get "Carl" back on.  She can do this for hours and it never gets old!

Sippy's, straws, bottles:  Addison does so well with straws now that we don't feel obligated to cart a sippy around with us everywhere.  We still give her a sippy at home, but we let her use a straw when we get a chance.  Lately, we have been letting her drink out of our cups and water bottles too, in order to get her used to other ways of drinking.

Weekly Update - Saying "HI"

Weekly Photo

Over last weekend, we visited with some of the Raube and Kuntz family in Bloomington and Pontiac.  Addie was able to see her grandparents on both sides of mommy's family.  It was really nice to see everyone, especially since it had been a while.  We were able to get a few pictures (see below).

Milestones Week of July 15 (62 Weeks):

Miss personality:  Lately, Addison's mood has changed drastically with her teething.  She is much more irritable and short-tempered.  Once her teeth come through, I'm thinking we will start seeing her happy personality come back :)

Food habits:  Before naps, Addison usually gets a small snack and milk to help fill up her belly.  Her favorite snack is 1/2 of a peanut butter sandwich.  Generally, we will cut the bread up to make it easy for chewing.  Lately though, we decided to just cut the crust off and give it to Addie whole.  She did great biting off pieces and not choking/gagging.  Her ability to eat the sandwich without any help from mommy or daddy is a pretty big milestone for us and shows that she might be ready for a variety of other foods.

Teething:  We can see almost all of Addison's front top and bottom two teeth.  It seems as though her gums are swollen and more teeth are trying to come through.  We're hoping that it's a quick breakthrough for her and not too painful, but her moods are proving otherwise :(

Extended Vocabulary: Addison has started saying "HI".  Daddy taught the word to her earlier in the week and she says it repeatedly now! ha ha  It's so cute because she will pop her head up next to where we are sitting, smile really big and say "HI".  So cute!

Weekly Update - Happy 4th of July, 14 Months Old

Weekly Picture:

Of course I've been a little delayed on posting again, but I always keep track of events and milestones on my phone's notepad so I don't forget specifics! :)  On Friday July 1st, mommy's cousins Angela (with her husband & kids) and Ashley came to visit us at the lake.  We had such an awesome time with all of them and Addie seemed to love having the company around.

Milestones - Week of Friday July 1st to Friday July 8th (14 Months)

4th of July - We celebrated all weekend long but starting on Saturday, uncle Dillon set of lots of fireworks at his house.  Addie seemed okay at first watching the bright lights, but eventually became annoyed (sleepy).  The rest of the weekend and on Monday (the 4th), it was so late by the time fireworks were going that Addie was already in bed.

Bedtime Soothing - In Addie's crib, we keep a stuffed animal "Bear-Bear".  The bear plays soft music when you hit the button the his back and then will shut off after 1/2 hour.  In the last week, Addie has started hitting the button when the music stops playing if she's still awake.

Pekaboo - We've posted before about Addie playing pekaboo.  It's even cuter now because she will hide behind just about anything and wait for you to say "BOO".  She uses curtains, pillows, toys.... ANYTHING to play pekaboo!

Visit to Illinois - We left on Tuesday the 5th to go visit Nana in Chicago with cousins Blake and Avryl.  We had a great visit with Nana!  We went swimming, played around the sand volley ball pit, and just had FUN.  On Friday the 8th, we went to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Kuntz for a bit.  Addie had fun "talking" with them and playing with toys at their place.

Food Habits - We have taken Addison off of baby puree completely.  She still only has her two top and bottom front teeth, but is really good at mashing most food, enough to swallow.
