Addie's Weekly Photo -
Addie's Milestones the week of August 26, 2011 (68 Weeks):
Climbing up AND down the stairs: Addison has become PRO at climbing up and down the stairs now. She gets really excited every time the baby gate door opens/closes. If one of us tries to go up/down the stairs without her, she will usually FLIP out because of how much she loves to make the climb herself.
Daddy's song: Daddy began singing the tune of "Sweet Caroline" quite a while ago and putting "Addison" in place of Caroline. After singing the "Sweet A-dis-son" part, daddy sings "bom-bom-bom". Addison caught on to the tune and now she will say "bom-bom-bom" instead of daddy singing it. It's SUPER cute!
Self-feeding with spoon: Addie tried feeding herself with a spoon this week. I can't say it was a complete success because she couldn't quite keep the spoon level enough for food to stay on, but she definitely has the hang of dipping and bringing it back to her mouth.
Words: Every week, Addie's vocabulary grows. It seems like she tries to repeat just about any word when we prompt her. This week she was tried to say "pizza (sa-sa)", and "Duke (doo)". When any of her favorite cartoons/shows are on, she will point at the screen and "talk/babble" like she's explaining what's going on. Adorable!
Baby Number 2 Update:
Nausea- Mommy only experienced nausea a few times this week and it tapered off completely by the end of the week.
Weight- Every week mommy feels like she's gained a TON of weight! My jeans are definitely getting snug around the belly and waist.
Our next doctor appointment is on Tuesday (Aug. the 30th). I think they will only do the doppler for the heart beat, so we probably won't have any pictures. But I will still put an update on here from the appointment.

Weekly Update - Addie's 15 Month checkup
Addie's Weekly Photo:
Addie's Weekly Milestones: Week of August 19, 2011 (67 Weeks)
15 Month Checkup
Height: 30 1/4 in
Weight: 22 lbs 12 oz
We are back at Dr. Sheri Neill now. Dr Neill has a newer staff now and I'm really pleased with how Addison's visit went :) Doc said everything is looking great with Addie. She was really pleased with Addison's vocabulary and said her stats are looking great too. We've had her on Flinstone vitamins but Dr. Neill has changed her over to vitamin drops that include Flouride.
Addison wasn't so bad with the shots this visit. The nurse gave her a multicolor lollipop before administering the shots and it seemed to keep Addie somewhat distracted. Her next visit will be at 18 Months.
New Words:
-Saying "cracker (ca-ca)". We give Addison crackers as treats every now and then and she LOVES them. She especially likes the ones that have peanut butter or cheese in the middle. If we mention "cracker" to her, she will say excitedly, "ca-ca"!
-"Pillow (pa-la)". Mommy has a body pillow that she sleeps with and Addison LOVES to curl up with it. If mommy or daddy ask her where her pillow is, she will get really excited and look for it while saying "pa-la....pa-la"!
Hide and Seek: Addison loves to take her toys and "hide" them while saying "go?". It's super cute because she will look at us to see if we know where they are and then while getting the toy out from it's hiding spot she will say "deee-eessss!" (there it is!!). So far her favorite hiding places are: a compartment on her scooter, the gaps in the couch, and behind ANYTHING! LOL
Laundry helper: I'm sure all mommy's and daddy's eventually get a little laundry helper. Addison loves to take my laundry piles and rearrange them. The funniest thing she does is that she will take a pile from her left and one-by-one she will pick up each piece of clothing and move it to her right (or vise versa). Then, once she has the entire pile moved to one side of her, she will begin to transfer it to the other side of her. It's so funny to watch her in action!
Baby Number 2 Update:
Nausea seems to be tapering off quite a bit now. Before it seemed like I woke up nauseous and went to bed nauseous so it was a 24-7 thing. Now, it seems like my sickness is mainly around certain smells and foods (nothing specific though). Since we're nearing the end of the first trimester, I'm hoping the nausea will be nearly gone within the next few weeks. Fingers crossed!

Weekly Update - Visit to Chicago
Addie's Weekly Photo
Addie's Milestones, Week of August 12, 2011 (66 Weeks):
Chicago Visit: Of course Addison has been to Chicago, but only to my Mom's place and hasn't really experienced "chicago". I was finally able to take her downtown over the weekend. We had so many "firsts" during our trip. Addison rode on her first city bus, her first train, and her first escalator. Addison cried during the bus trip but eventually was used to it by the second. The train, however, was a total hit! Addison visited with other passengers, stared out the window and seemed to really enjoy the ride. Once we actually arrived downtown, I would say that Addison's favorite part was probably the pigeons. Every time she would see one, she would reach out from the stroller to grab them! So cute!
Elevators: Addison is finally used to elevators. Addie used to cry, kick and scream every time we would ride one. Since going back to Nana's though, she loves the elevator and tries to hit the buttons.
Vocabulary: A new word that we have added to Addison's vocabulary is cheese. Addie started saying "cheese" over the weekend when mommy kept snapping pictures and asking her to "say cheese". It sounds more like "dees" when she says it, but still cute as ever :)
Baby Number 2 Update: Mommy has been EXTREMELY nauseous lately. My pregnancy symptoms have been significantly different than they were with Addison. Aside from the nausea, I am pretty tired. I can't say that my exhaustion is nearly as bad as the first pregnancy though. Heartburn has set on much earlier too :(
