33 Week Update - Crawling

33 Week Picture

Over the weekend, we were in Branson with daddy's family celebrating Christmas.  Despite still being sick, Addison did really well with the trip.  It definitely helped that the family kept her occupied and having fun.  After seeing all of the awesome toys, it's obvious that Shane's family really knows how to spoil this baby!  This weekend, she received a baby Elmo, Laugh and Learn puppy, blow up rattle, weeble-wobble penguin, and many, many MORE!  She seems to love them all!

Milestones:

Crawling:  Addie has been "moving about" for at least a few months now but it seems like she's actually getting somewhere now.  She isn't up on all fours yet, but she scoots herself around on her belly using only her arms.  Just a few days ago, we were playing on the floor and she moved several feet away from where she started.

Eating:  Although mommy tries every day, Addison still has NO interest in baby food.  She loves to feed herself crackers and enjoys eating normal people food, but gags and spits out baby food.  ::SIGH::

Gifts:  Addison has received SO many gifts already and it isn't even Christmas yet!!  Addie is so blessed to have so many people that love her and care about her.  We will try to get pictures on the blog of her wearing/playing with everything but we apologize if all items don't make it on here.

32 Week Update - The Sniffles

32 Week Picture

I'm a little late with the 32 week update mainly because we are in the process of trying to finish up the deck before weather gets even worse.  Not to mention, Addie has been sick.  I've been trying to take lots of pictures over the last few days though so hopefully her 33 week update will make up for being behind.

Milestones:

Sick:  Addie has been sick only once before now.  I consider that pretty lucky because many of my friends/family members have said their children were sick constantly because of being in and out of daycares.  So far, she hasn't had a fever but has been sneezing and stuffed up.

Addie slept a LOT this week from being sick :(

31 Week Update - 7 Months

Week 31 Picture

This week, Nana (Kristin's mom) came for a visit and to help mommy put Christmas decorations up.  Nana loved listening to all of Addison's new sounds and enjoyed rocking her to sleep.  It was really cute because any time Nana talked, Addie would just stare at her.  I think it's safe to say that Addison loves her Nana!! :)

Milestones:

Seeing her first show:  On Tuesday we went to Blake's Christmas performance at school (Kristin's nephew).  We weren't sure how Addie would do with it, but she was amazing!  Through the entire hour, she sat on mommy's lap and just looked around.  Now if we could just get her to sit through a movie at the theater! :)

Thumb sucking:  Earlier in the week, Shane told me that he saw Addie sucking her thumb.  I figured it was just a one-time thing, but she has done it several times since.  We've been popping the paci in her mouth every time we see the thumb go in, hoping that maybe we can keep her from getting too attached to the thumb.  Who knows if it's the "right" thing to do, but it's worth a shot.

Finger to mouth noise:  Ok, maybe not a milestone but it's absolutely ADORABLE when she does this.  When you put your hand or finger to Addie's mouth and pat her lips, she sings and hums.  I've done everything I can to get a video uploaded on the blog, but the website won't cooperate!

New Play Room:  It's a work in progress, but mommy and daddy have started turning one of the spare bedrooms into a toy room.  When we first took Addie in the room, she just starred at the floor for several minutes.  She must've been overwhelmed by the colors!  She seems to love scratching at the foam floor tiles and listening to the noise they make.

30 Week Update - First Allergy?

30 Week Picture:

We recently bought a new Christmas tree to go in our living room on the lower level.  On Sunday we decided to go ahead and put it up.  Addison was in awe the whole time.  Addie sat on the floor next to the tree while daddy and mommy put everything together.  It was really cute because she would reach out for the branches like she was trying to help "fluff" the tree out.  Addison and daddy put the first ornament on together (see pictures below).

Milestones:

First Christmas Ornament:  Addison's first ornament was bought for her by Grandma Jenny.  It is a tiny snowman globe with her name on the base.  The globe lights up and actually changes colors every few seconds.  It's REALLY cute!

First Christmas Present:  Addison received her first Christmas present!  It was actually two gifts from her cousin Alexa (Robin and Brian on Kristin's side).  She received a cute pair of pajamas and a Leap Frog Learning ball.  Of course opening the package was the most exciting part though.  Addison was pulling and laughing at the tissue paper coming out of the gift bag.  Mommy and Daddy laughed so hard watching her open everything, it was priceless!!

First Allergy?:  Well... we're not exactly sure what the allergy is but Addie has a red, blotchy, somewhat raised rash that she developed on her cheeks over the last week.  Mommy was feeding her Pears and Peas and it appeared almost immediately after eating.  Mommy was also using a metal spoon (versus a baby spoon), not sure if that had anything to do with it?  We've fed her peas before without any incident so we're assuming it was the pears or spoon. Hmmm...

Little Miss Grabby:  Addison has begun to grab EVERYTHING!  It seems like we went from dainty to grabby overnight too :)  When we lay Addie down to change her or for bath time, she immediately will flip over onto her side and throw her arms above her head looking around for something to latch onto.  If we put her in her bumbo chair, she will strain side to side with her arms stretched out as far as possible for anything within reach.  She cracks us up!
