54 Week Picture
Milestones: Week of May 20th 2011
Off breast milk/ON whole milk: Addie is officially OFF breast milk. Mommy stopped pumping this week (on Monday) and tossed all of the frozen milk in the garbage. Addison seems to like whole milk, but at night, we are still putting a scoop (or two) of formula because she was getting finicky right before bedtime every night. Slowly though, we are going to wean off of the formula at night too.
Off Bottles: Addison did much better with phasing out bottles than I thought she would. The first day or two were pretty rough because she did NOT want her milk in the sippy cup. We had basically packed up all of the bottles in the cabinet and put them out of her sight. After several attempts and a VERY fussy baby, I continued to bring the sippy cup to her mouth and she finally gave in. I think it helped that we didn't give in, otherwise, I think it would've taken WEEKS to get her off of bottles.
From standing to sitting: It seems like this only took her about a week or so but once she figured it out, she was able to do it every time! She first figured it out by falling to her butt when she was holding on to the couch. She cried for a few seconds and then got right back up. A few minutes later, she slowly lowered to the point where she plopped back on to her butt again. She did this a few more times and then realized how easy it was. She has NO problems climbing on stuff and getting back down now! :)
Babysitting B and A: This week we babysat cousins Blake and Avryl while Kristin's brother and sister-in-law went on vacation. Addison seems to love having the company. Whenever we would get her up from nap time, she would look around for them. We played outside a lot in the baby pool and we played quite a bit in the toy room. It was a fun time!
Dance: Addison loves to dance to music. I'm sure I've posted this before, but it's the funniest thing!! She has a Dora Scooter that plays a song and every time it comes on, she bounces on her butt or shakes her butt standing up. It's hilarious!!! We've posted a video below.
