Monthly Update - January 2014 Cooper's Flu :(

All about Addie

Invisible friends - Addie's new obsession is including her favorite characters in our day-to-day lives.  No matter what we're doing, dinner, movies, or just paying toys, she will randomly say something like "Merida is here".  At first it freaked me out when she said "Sully is sitting next to you, mom"... because I didn't make the connection that these are all character names from her favorite movies.  After realizing who these invisible friends were though, I was able to relax a bit ;)

No accidents!!  Addie hasn't had any accidents since November!! We are thrilled that she seems to be waking up on her own and going potty in the middle of the night when she needs to.

Readjusting closets - With a new baby coming, we had to movie Addie's clothes out of the nursery closet and into her room downstairs.  We had kept her clothes upstairs because we tend to change her and Cooper at the same time and in the same room.  Addie is getting much better about being able to dress herself.  Her outfits I have already made up and so she is able to just grab them out of the closet and get changed.

All about Cooper

Flu - Our poor little guy came down with the flu this month.  We went to the doctor on 1/6 and they confirmed the strand.  Unfortunately we didn't get a flu shot for the kids this year but it happened to be a strand that wouldn't have been covered by the flu shot anyway.  I just felt awful for the poor little guy!!  He's wasn't throwing up or anything but was hacking, sneezing, fever, etc. By the end of the following week, he was much better but still pretty sick.  Despite being sick, he was pretty upbeat and still wanted to play for the most part.

Fake sneeze - It must have come from being sick at the beginning of the month, but once his flu tapered off, I think he missed seeing our reaction from when he would sneeze.  He started this thing where he would fake sneeze and then shake his head like he's trying to "shake it off".  So funny to watch!!

Feeding self cold cereal -  Cooper began feeding himself cold cereal this month!! It took a few messy tries, but he got the hang of it pretty quickly!

All about baby #3

Slug - Seems like the whole month of January I've felt like a slug.  You probably couldn't tell because I still gave it my everything to keep up with the kids but just getting out of bed was getting to be a pretty big chore.

Baby Checkup - All is looking well and we are scheduled for induction a week early next month.  We decided on induction because we had a bad experience with one of the delivery doctors at our hospital and would rather not run the risk of him being on call if I came in for an unscheduled delivery.  The doctor will give us a more exact date at my next appointment.

More Photos from the month of January-

Addie making a Valentines craft

When mama doesn't have enough energy to
take the kids to play in the snow... bring

Addie Loves the book The Gruffalo, to the point where
she memorized it word for word.  When I found the movie,
I knew it would be a hit.  She LOVES it almost as much as the book!
