Weekly Update - Baby Chicks!

Addie's Weekly Photo Week of Friday March 2nd 2012:

On an impulse, we bought 10 baby chicks this week!  One of our local stores (Orschlen) has "chick days" every so often and we decided to take Addie in to see their stock.  It may sound like a crazy buy to some people, but chicks are fairly low maintenance and provide a pretty good 4-H experience for kids.... AND adults! :)  Shane is in the process of constructing a chicken coop (all of our chicks are female), but for now they are living under a heating lamp in the garage.  Addie LOVES running out into the garage and saying how cute they are.  She will run up to the box and say "awww... baby chicken.... cute".  I love giving Addison this opportunity and it's pretty neat as an adult too :)

Addie's Weekly Milestones:

Feeding self:  For toddlers, learning to feed oneself can be a bit tricky and an ongoing process.  Addie is no exception! LOL  We've been pretty fortunate because Addison likes to be independent and doesn't mind using the utensils.  Up until recently, when she would bring a spoon or fork to her mouth, she would flip it upside down and the food would fall off.  Lately though, she seems to be holding spoons/forks correctly and bringing them to her mouth without spilling much.  A HUGE milestone! :)

Studying baby in tummy:  I don't think Addie completely understands that there's a baby in mommy's tummy, but we've told her a few times and when you point to mommy's belly and ask "who's that", Addie will say "booger".  This week, I was trying to listen to my stomach on the doppler.  Addison decided she wanted to help and would put the earphones on while placing the doppler on my belly.  Every so often, she would pat my tummy and say "booger".

Vocab:
"Um.....how bout....":  I think we've mentioned this before, but it's so common now and super cute when she says it!  If you ask her a question or she's carrying on conversation with you, she will say "um....how bout".  Many times, she'll ask you "wha'doin" and then when you ask her, she'll reply with "um....how bout".......  Love it!

Baby #2 Update:

Labor progress? This whole week has been somewhat of a roller coaster.  At the beginning of the week I was experiencing a bit of nausea, headaches and several BH contractions (without any regularity).  By Wednesday, the contractions had picked up in quantity but they weren't extremely strong.  Thursday and Friday they only picked up when I would move around/walk so I knew they weren't a sign of "true" labor.  I experienced contractions while pregnant with Addie, but they were never as noticeable as these have been.  Lets hope things are progressing.  :)

She was having a good time with this!

We have had unseasonably warm weather
this year and so many opportunities to play outside!

Just over 38 Weeks Preggers

Addie and Nana came in during one of mommy's
hospital tests (NST for Cooper).  Addie wasn't sure what
to think about mommy being hooked up to the monitor...
