Last week we posted that Addie had been sick with RSV and we had started breathing treatments to help open up her lungs a bit and decrease her wheezing. Over the weekend, she was still pretty congested but by Tuesday she was pretty much over it. It was nice to finally see that happy healthy baby again!
Milestones:
Upgraded Crawling: Of course crawling is not new to our vocabulary, but now Addison is finally using her knees to move forward. Before, she would have no problem getting from point A to point B but it was usually by rolling, going backwards, or pulling herself on her belly. Now that she's using her knees, she's sure to get places much faster. Time for increased baby-proofing!
From Laying to Sitting: Addison has been able to go from her belly to a sitting position for about two weeks now, but she has only been able to do it on a soft surface (bed/couch). On Monday, she finally did it on the living room floor. This is yet another milestone in her maneuvering capabilities.
"Stand Up / Sit Down" - Mommy and Addie started something new this week and it seems to be a hit. Addie will sit on my lap straddling my legs and facing me. I will hold her hands and say "stand up" and help her to her feet (still straddling my legs), then I'll say "sit down" and she'll PLOP down and smile really big. We do this over and over until eventually I'm not helping her stand anymore. She loves it and eventually starts giggling a bunch.
Lip Smacking and Tongue Twirling - This week Addison has started exploring her own mouth. Not only are her hands in her mouth more than usual, but we are also noticing many new mouth tricks she has begun. One of them is that she twirls her tongue around both inside and outside of her mouth. This particular trick has made feeding time especially difficult because she fights with the spoon and won't let food in! Her other new thing is that she sucks on her tongue. I know this sounds weird and it's hard to explain, but she basically sticks her tongue out against her top lip and makes sucking noises. It's strange and funny all at the same time! :)
Bouncing - Addie first started bouncing months ago but it was mostly when Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was on. Now, pretty much any time music is on, she is bouncing! It's really cute.

We went exploring this week! Addie crawled her furthest ever!
In addition to "exploring" new rooms in the house, we went
outside and looked at rocks, grass and trees. She was in awe!
Mommy was having a hard time feeding Addie with
the new tongue tricks so we tried dipping her snacks
in baby food and let her feed herself. She actually LOVED IT!
