Weekly Update - Potty Training Success

Week of October 26, 2012

All about Addie

Potty Training:  Every week we are making more progress in potty training.  On multiple occasions, we left the house to run errands and Addison didn't have accidents on most trips.  Overall in the entire week, I could count on one hand the number of accidents she had.

New Terms:
"what" - she will say this if we say "say WHAT" then she will say "WHAT"?
"whatchu talkin bout" - If we are being silly, Addie will respond with "whatchu talkin bout"?
"silly daddy" - She LOVES telling daddy when he's being silly

All about Cooper

Sitting Up:  I'm sure he would probably have been sitting up earlier, but because he was so prone to acid reflux and vomiting/spitting up we had to keep in in an inclined position at all times.  Now that he is moving away from the acid reflux, we allow him to sit on his own more.  In some of his pics (below) you can see how he's trying to move left/right while he's sitting.  Often, he will collapse onto his side.  Other times, he catches himself and brings himself back upright.

Weaning from Prevacid:  We began weaning Cooper last week and are still not seeing any problems.  It's actually a HUGE step for us because at one point, our pediatrician told us that there's a possibility of Coop being on the meds indefinitely!  I'm so happy to see that he's not going into reflux rebound like he did the last time we tried to wean him.

Sleeping:  As we posted last week, Cooper has been sleeping on his own.  He still wakes up once or twice a night but there are a few nights that he didn't wake up at all.  WOW!  There isn't really a pattern yet that explains what wakes him but because he doesn't stay up for long and puts himself back to sleep, I'm not too concerned.
