New Baby Monitors. I've been wanting camera baby monitors for quite a while but we've held off on getting them because of the price and because we weren't sure how they would work in our area (interference, range, etc.). Shane ended up doing some research and found a monitor with great reviews and bought it for my birthday. We ended up with a Motorola that has a rotating camera, infrared/nighttime vision, sound, music....the works!!! I'm in love with these new cameras!!! We put one in the nursery and then the other camera we move based on where Cooper is sleeping/napping. I highly recommend ALL parents invest in these things... it's great to hear what your kids are doing, but even better to be able to see them!
All about Addie
Big Girl Bed: We are officially back in our "big girl bed". Addie has never really had a problem with where she sleeps so I knew transitioning her from the crib to her toddler bed wouldn't be an issue. We moved her out of her toddler bed temporarily when she was suffering with the chronic ear infections because it was easier to prop her up when she was sick. Now that it seems like her ears are better, we decided she's ready to be full time in the toddler bed. She has been in it all week without issue. We simply tell her that if she gets up, the pacifiers will be taken.... she NEVER gets up from the bed!! YAY!!
Ear Follow Up: We had our follow up appointment with Dr. Wood this week and he said everything is still looking great in Addie's ears (from the surgery). He is hopeful that Addie will be an easy case and when the tubes fall out (around 6 or more months) she will be "cured".
Picky: I have to say, I'm a mommy of a VERY picky eater. I'm sure all mommies talk about their picky eaters, but mine probably takes the cake... and that's about all she'll eat!! LOL Really though, Addison's favorites are rice, noodles, and fruit. She used to have chicken nuggets on her list, but really has started to shift away from that as well. I'm not sure where the pickiness comes from but I do remember being a really picky eater when I was young. Shane and I have decided not to focus too much on forcing foods though because we enjoy our time together as a family at dinner and don't want to spend it harping on our kids. With that said, I'm enthusiastic about introducing other foods anyways and seeing how Addie does in the future. :)
All about Cooper
Scream-talking: Cooper started a new form of communication this week and I call it "scream-talking". He's not angry, he just screams and squeals. Sometimes I have to look at his face to make sure it's not angry-talk but 9 times out of 10, he's just "talking". It's actually pretty cute to listen to. :)
Ignoring us: I think I posted about this before but he STILL does it!!! If you're holding Coop out in front of you or if you get near his face and try to make eye contact, he will do everything he can to keep from looking at our eyes!! I can't tell if he knows what he's doing either. Sometimes he will turn his head side to side and get a big smile on his face like he's toying with us. Too funny!
All about the Poops: Cooper is FINALLY pooping more regularly. I can't say he's completely "regular" but we've started giving him prune juice at least once daily (usually 1-3oz's depending on how constipated he is) and it's definitely working.
