Weekly Update - Poor Ears

Week Of June 29th, 2012

Addie's Weekly Photo

Cooper's Weekly Photo

This week we took a road trip to Illinois for a reunion with Kristin's dad's side of the family.  This was Addie and Cooper's first time meeting many people from that side of the family so it was really exciting and memorable!  The trip actually went really well and both kids were in surprisingly great moods for majority of the trip.  I included a few pictures below.

All about Addie

Poor Little Ears:  This week we had a consult with an ENT regarding Addison's chronic ear infections. The result was, of course, that we scheduled her to have tubes put in.  The appointment was made for around two weeks out.  Our nerves are flying as Daddy and Mommy think about putting our poor little girl through this process but we know it's for the best.  In the meantime, the doctor has put Addie on an antibiotic that will hopefully keep the infections at bay until the procedure.  Fingers crossed!

Giant Mickey Mouse: For her birthday, Addison received a giant-sized stuffed Mickey Mouse from "Gramma Donna" (Shane's Assistant).  Ever since, Addison can't go even one day without Mickey snuggle time.  Every day and generally in the morning, Addison will roll around on the floor "talking" and playing with Mickey.  It's absolutely ADORABLE to watch and listen to her!

ABC's:  Addison has started saying/singing her ABC's.  I'm thinking she must have learned this from one of her toys but it was a big surprise to me one day when I heard her start to recite the song.

Gymnastics:  Addison has been in Gymnastics for a few months now.  We missed several sessions because of her ear infections and just feeling yucky, but when we do go, she seems to have a lot of fun!!  We posted a few pictures below.

All about Cooper

Eating:  Coop is still only eating between 2.5-3oz's every 2-3 hours.  We've tried to increase his food from time to time but it seems as though he's still not ready for large amounts.  He will usually get really fussy or spitup if we give him any more than 3 oz. servings.

Moods:  We started giving Cooper about 1-3oz of prune juice per day to help keep him "regular".  I can't say it's completely kicked in but seems to be helping a bit.  Two nights this week, he slept between 6 and 8 hours!! Of course, the very next night he slept only 3 or 4, but it's a start in the right direction.  With the added sleep, I think Cooper's moods are much more pleasant than they were weeks ago.

Bath Time:  I thought we were pretty blessed having one child that loves bath time but life became even sweeter when we realized that Cooper loves it just as much!  I don't think Coop has really ever cried while we bathed him and in fact, seems to thoroughly enjoy it.  We might have ourselves another water baby on our hands!! :)
