Can you believe we're actually EARLY with this week's post??? I figured that since this weekend will probably be pretty chaotic, that I would spend some time on the blog on our last "quiet" day before closing.
This week was Halloween (Monday). On Sunday, we went to Captain Ron's for their Trick-Or-Treat event. Addie dressed up as Cookie Monster this year and since she's able to walk now, she was especially cute!! The first person handing stuff out was Ron (the restaurant owner) who was dressed up like a lion. I thought Addie would freak out, but she actually smiled really big at him and said "hi"! Addison didn't seem to really care for the candy as much as the SAND everywhere (Captain Ron's is located on a beach at the lake). At one point, someone handing out candy tried to hold the bowl down by Addie so she could grab something out and Addie walked away saying "all done!!". ha ha
On Monday, I thought I would take advantage of another low-key Halloween event. The outlet malls were having Trick-or-Treating from 2-7 and I figured if we went before school let out, we would be more likely to avoid crowds and Addie could run around without being knocked over by "big" kids. At first, Addison didn't want to walk into each store. I would open the door to walk in and she would turn away saying "all done". I had to pick her up and walk her in and then let her walk up to the cashiers where they were handing out candy. Finally, one of the stores was handing out suckers (her favorite). Addie immediately wanted to open it and was a little less hesitant about walking in the next place. From that point on, Addison would walk right in and go up to the first person she would see, even if it was a customer!! ha ha Her costume was a HIT! So many of the stores were giving her huge hand fulls of candy because they said they had never seen a cuter cookie monster!
Addie's Weekly Milestones, Week of November 4, 2011 (Week 78):
Bye-Bye: Addison seems to like our hotel but the thing she LOVES is cruising the hallways. Addie will stand at our hotel room door and repeat "bye-bye?...bye-bye?" If we open the door, she will bee-line for the hallway where she can walk for HOURS up and down. Sometimes she will venture down the stairs to the lobby and entertain the staff. It's very cute!
Pee-Pee: Not sure if this is TMI or not but here goes.... Of course when Shane or mommy have to go potty, we leave the door open so we can keep an eye on Addie. If she has ever walked in while we're going, we tell her we're going "pee-pee". Now, she will sometimes follow us in and tell us "pee-pee" and she grabs her lower belly and squats!! More recently, she will bounce up and down (squatting) and smile really big while saying "peeeee-peeee"!! ha ha
Morning greeter: Addison loves mornings at our hotel. Every morning, she wakes up and immediately goes to our hotel door and says "bye-bye" so we can go down for breakfast. When we go down the stairs, the hotel staff is always so excited to see her. Addison will go around and tell everyone "hi". Then Addie will go into the breakfast room and greet all of the other guests staying at our hotel. It doesn't stop there though. While we're sitting down eating, Addison will look around the room and say hi to everyone else eating breakfast.
Baby # 2 Update:
Kicks: Mommy has been feeling lots of activity from little Cooper lately. I notice his movement most when I'm settled down/sitting or standing and talking to someone. It's like he's just reminding me that he's in there! ha ha
Boy Stuff: I love this time of year because lots of new toys and clothes come out for babies/kids. I can't wait to start buying Cooper outfits and toys! It seems like every day I see a new outfit that I think would be adorable on my little guy, but of course I hold off since we're in the middle of so much chaos with the move. Can't wait to settle into our new place so we can start planning for our little guy!! :)
