Milestones Week of September 30, 2011 (73 Weeks):
Hating the sun: Addison LOVES to be outdoors. If she sees or hears an exterior door open, she will bee-line to get outside. Once she's out, she doesn't want to go back in! What's confusing though, is that if she is sitting somewhere indoors and the sun hits her face, she FREAKS OUT!! We were playing in the kitchen one morning and the sun began to peer through a window right at her face. Addie began a complete meltdown but wouldn't move from her spot. She just sat squinting her eyes and crying. If we're outside and the sun gets her, she doesn't seem to mind.... go figure!
Loving fish: We stopped by Petco while running errands one morning and decided to walk around looking at the fish. I wish I would've had a camera! I had Addie in the cart and was pushing her around all of the aquariums while she would point and "talk". I think we circled the tanks for around a half hour before I decided it was time to go! There may be a fish tank in Addie's future!?!?!
First Interaction with a baby: Addie really hasn't been around any small babies and Shane and I have both wondered how she will be when Baby #2 comes along. My cousin Robin just had her second baby about two weeks ago and was able to bring him with when she visited us in Normal. Addie seemed really interested in Keaton and when he would cry, she would say "BeeBee". She found a toy bottle and kept trying to give it to him too!!
Baby #2 Update:
Prenatal Checkup: My checkup Monday was only supposed to be a heartbeat scan and blood work, but the doctor decided to do an ultrasound on a whim. I was both excited and nervous about the ultrasound because Shane was going to come to this appointment but stayed home last minute to hang with Addie (since she doesn't do well at doctors offices). I had a feeling that doc might mention the gender and figured Shane might be sad if he wasn't there to see everything. The adrenaline took over though, and I was ready to see our little one on the screen. After just a few seconds, the doctor said "I think I know what this one is". Of course, mommy being the smart-alec that she is said "well I hope it's a baby"!!! ha ha Doc asked if I wanted to know the gender and I said YES!! He said we can't be too sure because it is still early but it looks like a BOY!!!! I was so excited I couldn't wait to tell Shane. I almost called him on the phone but the whole way home, I tried to think of clever ways to tell him. By the time I pulled up, I just let it out!!!!! Shane was very VERY excited about the news!!
