37 Week Update

On Tuesday we had our weekly checkup and everything is still looking good.  I'm not dilated yet, which is pretty normal for first time pregnancy.
Last night, we were watching the Cardinals game at home and Addie was really active (future Cardinals fan for sure!).  I kept seeing what looked like arms/legs elbows/knees push out at my stomach.  Every time Shane would yell really loud at the TV, it seemed like Addie would respond with movement like she was helping her daddy cheer the team on! LOL
I've noticed she hasn't been getting hiccups as often as she used to.  It used to be in upwards of 5 times a day and she only gets them about once or twice a day now.
Our next checkup is Tuesday morning and they'll check dilation again.  I'm pretty sure it's still too early, but I'll keep everyone posted!
Here's my most recent belly pic.  I know, the marks on my side are not all that attractive... but on a good note, they haven't changed in the last two weeks!!  Lets hope it stays that way.

36 Week Update

We had our 36 week checkup this week and everything is looking good.  The doctor estimated that Addie weighs between 5 and 5.5lbs.  He said if he were to guess, she would weigh around 7lbs at birth (at 40 weeks), but that's just a guestimate.
Unfortunately, he was not able to get a great pic of Addie's face because she was pretty pressed against the placenta and wouldn't budge for her photo shoot.  We were able to get part of it though, so I've attached the picture.  Only 4 weeks to go!!

Here's my most recent belly pic.

35 Week Update

WOW! Another week has gone by already.  The weather has been AMAZING over the last week, so time has really flown by!
I've done my best to get out of the house and go for daily walks.  I get a lot of pressure on my lower abdomen when I walk a long distance, it feels like gravity is taking everything in my stomach and pushing it as low as possible.  Aside from the pressure in my belly, walking feels FANTASTIC.  It's nice to get the fresh air and get my body moving!
Our next doctors appointment is Tuesday of next week.  We get another 3D ultrasound and the doctor will be able to tell us her approximate size/weight.
Here's the most recent belly pic.  So many people keep commenting that I'm "carrying low" for having a girl.  You be the judge....

Daddy In Training....

So Shane was messing around in the nursery and decided to "practice" changing diapers on a stuffed animal.  It just so happened to be a POO Bear....Winnie the Pooh, that is.  It was so cute I couldn't help but take pictures.  He's going to make a great daddy!!

Nursery Update

We've been working slowly but steadily to get the nursery ready.  My goal was to be done with decorating and "stocking" one month before our due date so we've done good!
Here are some updated Nursery photos.

Handley Baby Shower and 34 Week Update

Our baby shower in Arkansas was really fun.  It seemed like the family is just as anxious as we are to see this baby girl get here! :)  I can't say our drive home was much of a party though.  Although the weather was in the mid 70's in Arkansas while we were there, a snow/sleet storm blew through the area just in time for our drive home on Sunday.  It's nerve wrecking enough to watch cars around you swerve all over the place and fear for your own well being, but to know that there's an extra delicate life to protect now, is something else!  Glad the traveling is over for the time being!  Here are some baby shower pics.

I had my 34 week checkup this week and everything is still looking good, according to the doctor.  Next appointment in two weeks will be another 3D sonogram and he'll give us a rough estimate of her size/weight.
Last night, Addie seemed to be rolling around pretty much all night long!  I'm a pretty light sleeper, so I didn't get much rest.  It was actually kind of neat to just lay there and feel my belly shift from side to side.  Many times, she'll get leverage from pushing off of my pelvic bone and I'll have a huge lump of FOOT poking right up near my rib cage.  Although uncomfortable, it's still pretty funny to feel.

33 Week Update

So we're headed out this weekend for our final weekend of travel.  Shane's family is having a baby shower for us in his hometown of Benton, Arkansas.  We're so excited to see everyone.
My doctor has asked that we not travel past 34 weeks, so Shane and I have decided that we are anchored to  Camdenton after this weekend.
Our next doctor appointment is Monday.  Monday's checkup will be pretty simple as always but two weeks later, at my 36 week appointment, we'll get another 3D sonogram! :)

Here's the most recent baby bump picture.  I can feel things getting more and more cramped in my belly.  Addie's kicks and jolts are pretty focused on select areas (versus all over the place).  It's getting easier to feel which limbs are where when she moves too, it's so neat!
